About this product
What is vegetable collagen?
Vegetable collagen is a vegan blend developed as a plant-based counterpart to animal collagen. It is made from broccoli, carrot and natural enzymes, with no pea protein, and is around 85% protein by weight. It is not collagen in the animal sense, but a plant protein blend that plays the same role in a recipe.
How it is made
Broccoli and carrot are processed with natural enzymes and dried into a fine powder.
What it tastes like
Mild and neutral, with none of the vegetable flavour the ingredients might suggest, and a fine texture that blends smoothly.
How to use vegetable collagen
Add a scoop to smoothies, plant-based shakes or baking. It stirs into porridge and yoghurt and can be folded into pancake and muffin batter.
Quality and sourcing
Vegan. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Our standards
Every van Mel & Co. product is a single ingredient or a short, declared blend, with nothing added that is not on the label. Each one is supplied against a written specification that sets out its origin, sensory character, microbiological limits and allergen status. Where a product is certified organic, the certifying body is named in the specification. We pack in Stellenbosch and ship across South Africa in 100 g, 1 kg and 10 kg.
