About this product
What is golden flax seed powder?
Golden flax is a paler variety of the flax plant, prized for its milder flavour and lighter colour. The seed is pressed to remove the oil and milled, which concentrates the protein and fibre. Ours is grown organically in Austria and is a single ingredient.
How it is made
The seeds are pressed to remove the oil and the press cake is milled to a fine powder.
What it tastes like
Mild and nutty, softer in flavour than brown flax, with a fine, floury texture and a pale golden colour that disappears into pale bakes.
How to use golden flax seed powder
Use it to replace part of the flour in bread, muffins and pancakes, stir it into porridge and cook through, or mix it with water to form a gel that can stand in for eggs in baking. Its pale colour suits light bakes where brown flax would show.
